“Football is Like Life-it requires Perseverance, Self Denial, Hard work, Sacrifice, Dedication and Respect for Authority”. Football is the World’s most popular sport. It can be easily played with little to no equipment: socks are balls, rocks are goalposts and a few friends can form a team. Such a sport is an ideal fit to our Country where resources are scarce, but there is no shortage of talent, energy and interest. By keeping these quotes and ideas, A Mega Football Festival organised by District Education Office today on the preparations of FIFA U-17 World Cup Football 2017; Mission Eleven Million “MXIM” in Sports ground at Campion School Arera Colony Bhopal.  

School Band gives Salute to all the chief guests, guests, students players of the different schools. Chief Guest of the Occasion are Mr. Surendra Nath Singh MLA Bhopal (Central) Consistuency, Bhopal Municipal Corporation Chariman Mr. Surjeet Singh Chauhan, District Education Officer Mr. Dharmendra Sharma, Mr. Joyson, Campion School Principal Fr. Dr. Athnas Lakra S.J,, Vice Principal Fr. Ajay Kumar kerketta S.J., Mr. Vikas Saxena, Mr. Johnsy Koshy, Mr. Sanjay Mishra etc. On this occasion more than 1000 Physical Education teachers, coaches along with brilliant Football players of all the Government, Private and CBSE Schools were present. DEO Mr. Dharmendra Sharma and Fr. Dr. Athnas Lakra S.J. inaugurated this Mega Festival by football match and giving Football kit to all the football Players.

This U-17 FIFA World Cup Football is going to be held First time in the history of India in the month of October 2017 from 6 to 28. From All over the world 24 different countries were taking part in this U-17 FIFA World Cup. In this U-17 FIFA World Cup total 52 matches were playing in Goa, Guwahati, Kochi, Kolkatta, Mumbai and New Delhi. India is the proud host of the FIFA U-17 World Cup to be held in 2017.

Mission XI Million is a FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) and AIFF (All India Football Federation) owned initiative supported by the Government of India. Mission XI Million is India’s largest school contact programme that aims to make football the sport of choice among India’s Youth.

The Honourable Prime Minister and the Government of India see this as a turning point, an opportunity to change the culture of football and sport in this county. The legacy of this event of national importance can only be fully utilized by creating a mass movement around it. The objective is to take forward the PM’s vision of every child in the country playing football. With this view, the AIFF and the Local Organizing Committee for the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 with the support of the Government of India have created a pioneering program called Mission XI Million (MXIM), that intends to bring at least 11 million school kids in the country actively playing football in the run up to the Event.

The Key People contacting for this programme are School Administrators, School Principals, Physical Education teachers and coaches along with brilliant Football players. The Mission XI Million approach is to work with School Principals and Sports teachers and coaches together as one unit. Every school that becomes a part of this will be the pioneers in changing our nation’s sporting future. Schools will be fully supported and encouraged to make their children play football regularly.
