INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY ORGANISED AT CAMPION. STUDENTS & TEACHERS PARTICIPATED IN IT WITH FULL ZEAL AND ENTHUSIASM.

"Yoga embodies the unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfilment, harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being." We all know very well that June 21 has been declared International Yoga Day. To celebrate this occasion, Campion School organised Yoga Sessions for all the students & teachers on the theme of ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’. Hundreds of students and teachers from secondary sections took part in the session. Students & Teachers participate actively on this occasion of International Yoga Day today on the premises of Campion School under the Leadership of Principal Father Amritlal Toppo S.J. Physical Education Teachers Mr. Sanjay Mishra, Vibhore Tiwari and Miss Meenakshi Rajput taught various Asanas, starting with warming up and stretching, followed by the series of Surya Namaskar, Padmasana, Paschimottasans, Pranayama, Pawan Muktasana, Vajrasana, Dhanurasana, Chakrasana, Sarvangasana, Halasana, Bhujangasana and ending with Shavasana, etc to the students. Through these Yoga sessions, the students & teachers were educated on the importance of Yoga. On the occasion of this International Yoga Day, Senior teacher Mr Mahendra Kothari shared a few thoughts and recited a poem. A Student explained that yoga helps maintain not only physical and mental health but also a healthy social life.  All were sworn in by the student, Master Zyaan. Principal Fr. Amrit Lal Toppo S.J. said, "Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice that evolved over thousands of years to embrace a wide range of styles and disciplines, and aims to transform the human body and mind. It is a science designed to cultivate health and happiness, a greater sense of awareness, and higher consciousness. So, Yoga is an ascetic discipline which is practised for good health and relaxation". He also pointed out the contribution of yoga in maintaining fitness and good health and how it helps students to memorise something and understand a concept and its context. It strengthens the immune system and does internal cleansing of blood, body parts, body systems, organs, veins & arteries”. Fr. Vice Principal Fabianus Xaxlo S.J. and Sister Jacinta were also present on the occasion.
