Campion School, Bhopal, celebrated National Sports Day with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit on 29 August 2026. The day was observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary Indian hockey player, and to highlight the importance of sports, fitness, discipline, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle. A Special Morning Assembly was conducted on the occasion. The assembly featured inspiring thoughts, speeches and activities highlighting the importance of physical fitness and sports in students’ lives. Students were also made aware of the remarkable contribution of Major Dhyan Chand to Indian hockey and the significance of National Sports Day. The programme was organised under the guidance of Principal Father Amritlal Toppo S.J. and Vice Principal Father Fabianus Xalxo S.J., whose encouragement inspired the students to actively participate in sports and fitness activities. The Physical Education Department, under the leadership of HOD Mr. Johnsy Koshy, conducted a series of engaging sports and fitness activities for the students. The activities provided students with an opportunity to showcase their sporting talent, develop team spirit and understand the importance of discipline and perseverance. Addressing the students, the school authorities emphasized that sports are an integral part of education as they help develop confidence, leadership, discipline, teamwork and a spirit of healthy competition. The celebration concluded with a message encouraging students to make sports and physical activity an essential part of their daily routine. The National Sports Day celebration at Campion School was a meaningful reminder that a healthy body contributes to a healthy and active mind.
