POCSO AWARENESS PROGRAMME ORGANISED AT CAMPION SCHOOL

An awareness programme on POCSO, cyber fraud, bullying, and child safety was organised at Campion School by the Awaaj Jan Kalyan Committee in association with the District Education Officer (DEO), Department of Education. The programme was conducted for students of Classes VI to XII to educate them about child protection, online safety, cybercrime prevention, and the harmful effects of bullying. The resource person explained the importance of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, highlighting its role in safeguarding children and ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being. Students were made aware of their rights, the importance of safe internet practices, and the steps to take in cases of abuse, harassment, or cyber fraud. The programme aimed to encourage students to remain alert, responsible, and confident in reporting any unsafe or inappropriate behaviour. Special emphasis was placed on creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for children both in school and in the digital world. The initiative by the Aawaj Jan Kalyan Committee, in collaboration with the Education Department, was an important step towards promoting awareness, safeguarding children, and building a culture of safety and respect among students The programme was graced by Chief Guest and Principal Father Amritlal Toppo SJ, along with Vice Principal Father Fabianus Xalxo SJ and Sister Jasinta.
