CAMPION SCHOOL CELEBRATES “SANSKRIT WEEK”. JOURNEY INTO SANSKRIT: A SCHOOL EXHIBITION ORGANISED IN CAMPION

Sanskrit is one of India’s official languages and is widely regarded as the classical language of the country. To encourage students to develop an interest & liking for Sanskrit and to gain a better understanding of Indian culture, Sanskrit Week was celebrated at Campion School, Arera Colony, Bhopal, a week of learning, tradition, and unity. The Chief guests of the occasion were Principal Dr. Fr. Athnas Lakra SJ, Vice Principal Fr. Manoj Minj SJ was present with all the school teachers and staff to mark the occasion. This Sanskrit week and exhibition was organised by the Sanskrit Department members of the school Mrs. Omlata Choubey, Mr. Shubham Sharma and Mrs. Mansha Tiwari in an enthusiastic manner which witnessed tremendous participation of students. A special morning assembly was organised under the guidance of Sanskrit Department members. On this occasion, various programmes including poetry sessions, the importance of the Sanskrit language in today’s era, Sanskrit recitation, Speeches, idioms and phrases were staged by the students in a mesmerising manner. Apart from this, a Sanskrit Exhibition: ‘Journey into Sanskrit’ was organised to help and learn about Sanskrit and its importance. This exhibition was inaugurated by the Principal Dr. Fr. Athnas Lakra SJ. Students of classes VI to XII brought out their creative skills through Poster making, Drawings, Paintings and Poster Slogans on the occasion of Sanskrit week in a short period and displayed them. The exhibition has old manuscripts and beautiful writing that show how Sanskrit looked in the past. There are also so many things in the exhibition that students can touch and play with. Students learn how to say simple things in Sanskrit and even write some letters in the Sanskrit alphabet. The exhibition also teaches students how Sanskrit changed over many years, and they see how Sanskrit is connected to spiritual and wise ideas too. The exhibition reminds us that Sanskrit is a treasure we should protect. It’s like a key to unlock deep meanings. In a world that’s always changing, Sanskrit helps us remember our past and our culture. The Programme was concluded with the motivating words of the Principal Fr. He highlighted the importance of the Language and its existence and asked to disseminate its significance, respect and value. He also appreciated the students for their commendable performance.
